Thailand Baht

The currency of Thailand is known as the Baht. It is commonly represented by the sign "฿" and has been given the official ISO currency code of "THB". It is issued by the Bank of Thailand and can be subdivided into one-hundred satang. The bank notes used today originate from an older standardized currency system that tied the value of Thai money to the value of silver. In 1902, the Baht was no longer fixed to silver and over the last century has been pegged to several other currencies including the British pound, the Japanese yen, and the US dollar.
